How to store your woollens

Dust can make your woollens look drab. Hence brush them lengthwise every once in a while to remove the dirt.

The best way to store your woollens is by wrapping them in a plastic sheet.
Once you've worn the garment, make sure to air it out well and keep it in the sun for a couple of hours for it to maintain its texture. Knitted clothes should be folded and stored in drawers, while coats should be hung on hangers.

You should also scatter mothballs in your cupboard periodically. In case you feel that mothballs may leave a strong smell in your wardrobe, you can always sprinkle neem leaves.

If you have pashmina or cashmere shawls, you should always store them in airtight zip lock polythene bags to protect them from moisture.

Scarves and stoles should be wrapped in a muslin cloth and hanged. If you pile them, the crease may damage.

If you have cotton stoles, they should be ironed before putting them away.
Always remember to dry clean your woollen garments.
