Four prize-winning authors are scheduled to appear at the 2015 Virginia Children's Book Festival.
Jacqueline Woodson is the keynote author. Woodson's novel, "Brown Girl Dreaming," won the National Book Award for Young People's Literature. The novel also was named a Newbery Honor Book by the American Library Association.
The lineup also includes Kwame Alexander, Cece Bell and Duncan Tonatiuh. Alexander's novel, "The Crossover," won the 2015 Newbery Medal, the top Newbery Awards prize.
Bell's graphic novel, "El Deafo," was named a Newbery Honor Book.
Tonatiuh's book, "Separate is Never Equal," was named a Pura Belpre Illustrator Honor Book, annually given to a Latino/Latina author who best relates the Latino cultural experience.
The festival will be held on Oct. 16-17 on Longwood University's campus in Farmville.
