Going in for beauty treatments to enhance and contour facial features are getting quite popular amongst men these days, especially with beauty professionals and salons designing treatments that work for men.
Dr Geeta Oberoi, dermatologist says, "Semi-permanent makeup, which is also popularly known as Micro-pigmentation, is a boon for men in today's day and age. It is an advanced cosmetic technique, which employs hypo-allergic colours into the dermis that then treats the skin."
VARIOUS TREATMENTS AVAILABLE FOR MEN
Eyebrow and eyelash enhancement: Men, who have scanty or nil eyebrows or eyelashes, can go in for this treatment, which is done using micro-pigmentation technology that will give you a perfectly-shaped natural looking brow.
Scar camouflage: Various scars — be it the one caused by acne or an injury — can be treated using the micro-pigmentation or RF technology. Dermatologist Dr D Ganguly says, "This technique helps lighten scars and marks of any kind. This treatment is done over a period of time and may require four to five sessions, depending on how deep or light the scar is."
Hair simulation: Experiencing hair loss can cause a reduction in confidence and low self-esteem. Thus, with the help of hair simulation technique, which is also known as a micro-tattooing technique, one can have their hair growth regenerated. The actual texture of the hair, shape and growth of the hair is mapped by professionals for them to work on and takes about six to seven sittings (depending on hair growth). Fuller lips: Achieving plumper and healthy lips is one such treatment that both men and women like to go in for. Says Dr Oberoi, "Men who have thin upper lips or darker lips usually prefer to go in for this treatment. These are permanent fillers and take about a month or so to be treated. Further, if one desires to get their lip-line shaped, this is also done along with this treatment."
POST TREATMENT CARE
Increase the intake of fluids: You should keep drinking water or fresh fruit and vegetable juices to detox your system. Normally, after treatment is done, it dehydrates your body, which then needs plenty of fluids to replenish the system.
One treatment at a time: It is usually said that after you get a cosmetic treatment done, you should ideally wait for two to six months before going in for another treatment. It will reduce the effect of the treatment that you've undergone and delay the results.
Consult a doctor, in case you need aid: Most of the times, people often notice side-effects a week or two later after they've undergone any sort of skin or hair treatment. If this happens, consult a doctor immediately and do not take medication on your own.
