If you have a place where you can grow your own plants, instead of the usual ones like roses, hibiscus and tulsi, try nurturing the following healing shrubs:

Lavender: It is known for its relaxing and soothing properties. The smell of the lavender flower is also an aphrodisiac. One of its best medicinal uses is that it is helpful for people who suffer from insomnia. Once the flowers bloom, you can also dry them and use them as pot pourri. It is also used in food as garnish and decoration.

Aloe vera: Aloe vera is a must-have in your garden if you want to grow healing plants. Its gel extract can be used to soothe red or irritated skin. It can be consumed internally too. Also, it doesn't require too much maintenance and attention, because it requires water once in a while, so it's very easy to grow.

Peppermint: No points for guessing that growing this plant will make your garden smell fresh! Apart from the fragrance it is used to cure headaches, fight stress and indigestion. One great way to use it is to add it in your regular tea or any other beverage for a minty flavour.

Basil: You can use it in food and hence it is one healing plant that will always come handy. Basil is good for the immune system, prevention of acne, inflammation and even digestion.
