Decor
The lobby of the hotel itself spells out a feeling of fun and gaiety and the theme extends to the restaurant with its campus style-decor, almost like a plush university hall. A matte black high ceiling with LED lights give things an astral feel. Green and grey are the dominant colours here and the theme continues to the furniture as well, so don't be surprised if there are different coloured chairs at your table. Serving stations are spread out cleverly and there is a tandoor counter at the far end.
Food
We have to make a mention of the sheer variety of the menu, which lists out a repertoire spanning tiffin items, regional dishes, thalis and even Mediterranean specialities. Executive Chef Sameer Luthra comes with an impeccable background and prestigious degrees in the culinary space. We were wowed by his creations — Murgh Murtakash, Makkai Ke Sule, Murgh Duheri Tikki, Mutton Tarkash Seekh Kebab and Bhavnagri Mirch Ke Gullar. Everything was presented in a modern style and cooked up with a twist. The Cessna Chicken Burger was good and elegantly plated, but there was nothing exceptional about it. A wholesome Chicken thali was served with Tomato Pappu, Guntur Chicken, Alleppy Fish curry, Bendakai Malikattu, Rasam, Paripupodi Sadam, Malabari Paratha, Semiya Payasam, Appalam and Banana Chips — now what more can you ask for? Tickled by the idea of eating from a dabba, we tried a Vegetarian Tiffin with Dal Makhani, Aloo Gobi, Jeera Matar Pulao, Roti, Papad, Pickle and Nimbu Pani. It was not too rich but delicious, and helped us jog through some old memories. This pleasant repast was rounded off by a substantial serving of an Almond Financier with lime and passion fruit cream.
Service
The energy of the youthful staff is quite noticeable and is matched with their enthusiasm.
Plus and minus
The management and staff are very eager to please and this results in personal attention to the guest. Nook is all about fun dining in a casual ambience, so if you are a mature diner looking to celebrate an anniversary, this may not be your cup of tea.
