Don't stick to bottles of just one size — instead go for differently sized, shaped and coloured bottles. Preferably, go in for transparent bottles since they tend to give a better effect.
- If you want a bottle in a particular colour and can't seem to find it, worry not. Use watercolours to paint the bottle in the shade you want. This way, you can ensure that they match with the decor. Visit your local florist and pick up small indoor plants that would fit in your bottles.
- Placing three or more bottles of different sizes (and colours) with assorted plants on your centre table will give your room just the right dash of colour.
- Have a lot of alcohol bottles lying empty at home? Instead of using them to store water, get a little creative and use them as decor items. Select ones with unique shapes and colours and place them at different spots in your house. You could either use them as vases for flowers or even keep your plants in them.
- Put tiny fairy lights inside a coloured bottle and see how well it works as a decorative lamp. You could even hang this on your balcony. Alternatively, you could place a candle either inside or behind the bottle to make it glow.
- Ever noticed huge glass jars in restaurants filled with pulses, fruits and vegetables being used as decorative items? Why not try something similar at home too? Take a glass bottle with a wide neck, add any vegetable that you like and fill the bottle with vinegar. Shut the cap tight and you're done! Your kitchen is an ideal place where this would fit.
- Don't want to use coloured bottles as plant holders? Simply add coloured water, sand or even shells and pebbles to give it a different and vibrant look.
