A smartphone-less meal

One of the biggest problems that many of us face today is being unable to have a face-to-face conversation with friends and family.

Whether you're hanging out with a bunch of friends or dining with family, their attention is consumed by their smartphones while you just sit there waiting for a conversation. Here's what you can do to change that:
The glass game: If your friends want a drink, they have to turn their phones with the screen facing down and use that as a coaster. If they try to turn the phone around even once, you take away the drink and don't let them order another.
The brown bag: Family dinners are always difficult with a teenager in the house. But today, even parents are addicted to their smart phones and social networking. Bring in the brown bag. Before dinner, every member of the family must put his or her phone in the bag. Keep this bag at the end of the table. The first person to succumb and reach for the bag, cooks all the meals the following week.
No-phone party: Often done by celebrities, the invite to your party will specify 'No smartphones allowed'. If any of the guests bring one, they need to leave it in their car or outside with the guard. If they choose to step out and use the phone, the host gets to decide if the guest will be allowed back inside or not.
Phone Stacking: When you're at a restaurant or a cafe, everyone stacks their phones at the centre of the table. The first person to pick up their phone pays the bill.
