Summer may be past us, but with the number of people baring their midriff, it's evident that the trend is no longer dependent on only the season. Crop tops and bralets, the big trend from the 90s, is literally back with a bang and celebrities around the world have welcomed it to their wardrobes.
In fact, the mini top has now become a street style vital. While wearing a crop top can up your look by a notch or two, getting it wrong can make you a fashion offender of the worst kind. Here are a few know-hows to sport that little piece of clothing. Stylist Chandni Bahri says, "It is a fine line between being chic and trashy. Proportions are of utmost importance — pair bralets with high-waist or mid-rise pants/ skirts. Layer them with jackets and shirts for the day. The best thing about a crop top is that you can play with proportions once you understand them."
Choose to flaunt as much as an inch of midriff to the entire torso. There are no rules that define how much midriff is too much, but know where to stop. Just flaunt what is comfortable. If done right, crop tops can be very retro chic and young.
Adds stylist Daena Sethna, "If you have not crossed the fleshold, then the crop top is definitely a must-have in your wardrobe. Wear it with shorts for a casual day look. Or on a high waist, slim fit skirt for a chic corporate look. Team it with a pair of palazzo pants for a fun night out with the girls or with a pleated maxi skirt for a coffee date."

- Wear a tank top or a vest beneath your crop top. You can play with prints when you try this look
- A jacket over your crop top helps you show off minimum skin
- Pull a crop top in mesh over a well-fitted dress. Team this up with a large envelope clutch and a lovely pair of heels; be a head turner.
- Crop tops look great with overalls; this way you bare scant skin.
