Try squats, which not only helps you lose flab, but tones up the right leg muscles too.

Looking to wear your mini dress or shorts this year-end? Then you better add squats to your gym regimen. Experts say it targets the quads, hamstrings and glutes better than any other workout, while strengthening the core, making it best exercise for a sexy lower body.

Squats can be done at home, either before you start your day or in the evening, once you're home. It's good to do squats at the beginning of your legs workout. It can be done with or without weights.

Do it right
- Place feet a little wider than shoulder-width apart, toes facing forward.
- Roll the shoulders back so as to remove stress.
- Extend the arms out straight so they are parallel with the ground, palms facing down.
- Inhale slightly bringing hips back.
- Gradually, lower your body as if you are going to sit down on a chair.
- Hold the position and then go back up to starting position. Repeat the action again.
- Remember not to spend too long at the top or bottom of the motion.

Warning: Knee problems?
Several people might find that the squat hurts the knees while trying it. If so, it's better to do other forms of exercise.
