The Dalai Lama at Jaipur Lit Fest?

Tibetan leader Dalai Lama might be making an appearance as one of the guest speakers at the 2013 edition of the Jaipur Literature festival to be held from January 24-28.

A member from the Dungarpur royal family, which is related to the owners of Diggi Palace, the venue for the fest, on condition of anonymity told us, "In the last edition of the Jaipur Lit Fest. organizers tried to gain unnecessary mileage by putting the name of controversial writer Salman Rushdie's name in the list of guest speakers to be present at the event. But, the plan fell flat and we all had to go through a tough time answering questions. The plan of Rushdie addressing the crowd via video conferencing received flak. The list for the next edition of Jaipur Literature festival hasn't been worked out yet, but as to what has been learnt till now, his Holiness, the Dalai Lama, would be coming as one of the guest speakers at the prestigious event."
