Sleep tight: Daytime sleepiness is also caused by poor sleeping habits in the night
How many times have you felt yourself yawning while working? How many times have you reached out for the coffee machine in order to give yourself that caffeine kick?
Several people suffer from sleepiness at work, which could happen for a number of reasons. Experts say that the topmost reason for daytime sleepiness, is poor sleeping habits in the night. Try to improve your night-time sleep. If you spend long hours working behind a desk, try to get up frequently for short walks. At lunch time, try to take a 10 minute walk around your building.
This will make you feel more alert as well as refreshed. While napping on the job can be tricky, make sure you do it during your break time. Even a 10-15 minute power nap will do wonders to rev you up. Avoid looking at your computer screen for hours at a time without any break. This causes eyestrain and worsens sleepiness. Look away from the screen for a few seconds regularly to relax your eyes.
