Tired of all the anti aging advice on skin that is being doled out by experts and fashionistas? The key is to look for advice that is supported by facts and scientific evidence. Here are some skin tips that you need to hold on to and some that you don't...
Look for a neck cream: This is one tip you do not need to follow as any cream for the neck will do. Many upscale brands have specific products for the neck, but none of them are really necessary as all you need is a rich face cream that you can apply on the neck too.
You need a pore shrinking product: This is a much bandied about bit of advice and people with large pores on the face or the nose usually run to the nearest store to look for a product that will fight the problem. The truth is however that the pores get clogged and therefore look bigger, not that they can shrink or enlarge in size.
Avoid the sun: This bit of advice is very true but not totally so, because you can go into the sunlight as long as you have applied enough sunscreen. The sun is especially harsh between 9.30 am to 3.30pm, so stay away from this bright light if you don't have sublock on.
Any invasive skin procedure can achieve instant youth: This bit of advice has driven many women to their dermatologists but it is not always true. One procedure cannot help instantly. Also, any procedure can take away a few years but can never hope to wipe away decades of life and living and make you look like a teenager again.
