Fight rust with nail paint
Have yellow rings forming on shelves in your toilet where you store you metal containers like shaving foam? Well, simply brush nail enamel around the bottom of all your metal containers and your problem is solved.
If you are drilling a new hole to put up anything on your wall, or setting up support to hold appliances etc. here's an easy way to prevent the screws from rusting. Paint them with a coat or two of clear nail paint. In fact it will also help in keeping the screws secure.
Any metal object, even your car, has any small dings and chips, it'll be a good idea to apply a nice coat.
